Spring has Sprung!
The Parish Council has taken on board Sally McIlroy’s idea that we should consider a spring clean to start a process of ongoing cleanliness for our beautiful village, established in the 12th Century!
Sally has set up a small team to take responsibility for:-
- Clearing the small traffic island of weeds etc at the entrance to the village.
- Tidying away stray bollards, post events in the village.
- Removing defunct and tatty signs that have been left too long.
In addition, you may have noticed that the new owners of the field opposite the church have replaced the fencing and cleared the footpath of weeds and foliage. All this means that the entrance to the village has been transformed and, for the first time in years, pedestrians can now walk two abreast!
At this time of year, we have in the past organised a general litter pick with volunteers to clear the litter mainly discarded by passing drivers. We will organise a date and time to do this and hopefully we will have volunteers to join in.
Going forward, we are hoping that individual property owners fronting all the roads in the village and Puttenham Heath Road will maintain this clearance of litter and rubbish outside their own property. This is said in the knowledge that most people do this already.
